IT Facility Coordinator:

Responsible for managing a wide variety administrative, technical, and operations functions in a very fast paced of Tactical IT laboratory environment. Serves as liaison between customer, stakeholders, security, IT, administrative personnel, and management to ensure smooth operations of laboratory test activities. Will support the customer in technical design, implementation, and maintenance of the test bed. This position requires a dedicated individual who is extremely detailed-oriented, technologically well versed in network engineering, possesses excellent communication and grammar skills, is extremely dependable, able to multi-task, and actively seeks resolutions to encountered problems. Must be able to work in a team-oriented and high-pressure environment, with fluid requirements and support needs.

Role/Responsibilities

  • Manages all laboratory planning and scheduling, ensuring accurate visitor list is provided, coordinating with security POCs for visitor clearance status in a timely manner, responsible for all physical access and control, and customer communications.
  • Work with customers, stakeholders, and vendors to architect a test environment that meets their requirements and provides sufficient capability.
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of architectural artifacts and configuration management of the lab test bed infrastructure.
  • Responsible day-to-day oversight and battle rhythm in the lab.
  • Assist customer in the setup, configuration, and modifications of the test bed.
  • Maintain lab Network Backbone (Switches, Routers, Firewalls)
  • Participate in meetings regarding project or test planning, strategizing, status updates, and other activities.
  • Coordinates with other laboratories to establish fiber connectivity, and responsible for the documentation, maintenance, and oversight of the connections.
  • Collaborates with customer to align lab capability roadmap with the customer program requirements, priorities, and schedule.
  • Identify areas for improvement, automation, and modernization within the facility
  • Captures customer requirements for facility infrastructure and physical space needs
  • Assist government personnel in the scheduling and task management for regular maintenance, shipping and receiving, new construction or installation of laboratory equipment and internal systems.
  • Work with lab personnel to determine equipment, hardware, and software needs and advise the manager/leadership team on equipment upgrades, replacement, and repairs needed to meet lab technical requirements and/or revised security and IA requirements.
  • Maintain lab Network Backbone (Switches, Routers, Firewalls) as well as the Tactical Network (Switches, Routers, Firewalls (11 rule sets)).
  • Modify lab networking equipment to integrate with external facilities and customer requirements.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience working as a lab manager, senior systems architect, or senior network engineer
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Integration and Test of hardware/software and DoD systems
  • Knowledge of the Army’s Integrated Tactical Network and subcomponents
  • Experience designing test bed architectures and generating architecture/network diagrams.
  • Experience/Familiar with VOIP
  • Experience/Familiar with Cisco, Juniper, PacStar, and Klaus Networking systems
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Network + or CCNA is a bonus
  • Experience designing and implementing LANs and VLANs
  • Familiar with Routing Protocols BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP as well as MULTICAST
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Visio
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational and coordination abilities, and time management skills
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills such as diplomacy, patience, and politeness
  • Ability to think through details and tactics without losing sight of overall strategic goals
  • Ability to change direction and re-prioritize in response to changing work situations in a high paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting needs; handle tasks and requests expediously and proactively and follow through on task/project to successful completion often with deadline pressures.
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods, climbing ladders, navigate tight spaces and to physically lift 50+lbs independently.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of frequency bands and spectrum analyzers
  • Ability to troubleshoot radio links and establish digital networks
  • Experience leading system of system test planning and execution
