Position Description
NetSEA Technologies is seeking a qualified Senior Systems/RF Engineer that enjoys optimizing architectures and providing actionable technical insights on how the Army's tactical networks can be leveraged to enhance capabilities on the battlefield. This position supports the Army’s Tactical Radios program, Product Manager (PdM) Waveforms, at Aberdeen Proving Ground. This dynamic team works in one of the most impactful and exciting technology domains affecting battlefield success in the Army.
Clearance Level: Must possess a DoD SECRET or higher clearance.
Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD
Hours: Normal business hours Monday - Friday
Travel: up to 30%
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and inform PdM Waveforms on secure tactical communication technologies, advance networking waveforms and address technology gaps across the range of PM Tactical Radios products
- Evaluate requirements and design lower tactical Internet architecture within the Army's Integrated Tactical Network
- Serve in a lead role for integrated product team (IPT)s with internal and external stakeholders, supporting Technical Working Groups as well as lab and field-based test initiatives for MANET, mesh and SINCGARS and other legacy communications networks.
- Capable of presenting technical courses of action to government executives and the Warfighter
- Provide subject matter expertise on enterprise and tactical networks and enclaves
- Transition new communication technologies into the evolving Army lower tactical network
- Provide communications engineering expertise to PEO C3T in pursuit of technical and policy solutions to tactical enterprise and local area C5ISR challenges facing the Army’s current and future forces
- Provide technical expertise in the areas of tactical communications and network engineering, architecture, analysis, development, network operations support in field, and operationally deployed locations
- Provide assessment and subject matter expert reviewing reports and documentations related to software design, interfaces and tactical networking on NIPR and SIPR independently and in a timely manner
- Perform trade-off studies for system level design and material acquisition of tactical communication systems, implement and test such methodologies and devices
- Perform software code analysis and reviews
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems
- Minimum of ten (10) years related experience of progressively more complex experience in network design, software engineering, development, and documentation
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must understand Army wireless/Tactical Radio networks and be able to integrate systems
- Must have recent and relevant experience leveraging theory and knowledge of terrestrial Line of Sight/Beyond Line of Sight (LOS/BLOS) communications with recent and relevant experience with RF and RF measurements to review test data and make recommendations based on results
- Must know basic foundations of waveforms and have recent experience with CDMA, WCDMA and mobile ad hoc networking waveforms
- Very strong interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management and cross-functional team leadership and coordination
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently across a range of complex projects
- Must have a minimum of an active Secret Clearance, Top Secret preferred
- Travel: possibly up to 30%
- Additional expertise in RF engineering, satellite communications and other MIL-STD communications equipment/waveforms
- Experience with Systems of Systems architecture (SOSA) development as well as requirements development and decomposition
- Experience working with and in software development teams using both traditional waterfall and agile software development methodologies
- Experience with secure over-the-air management protocols and techniques
- Army SIGINT/EW experience
